My sweet son turned 4….in January. And I threw him a party….in June. Best mom award right here. Luckily, it also was his half birthday. Narrowing a theme down was crazy with a 4 year old. One day it was Ninjago, another it was Pokemon (which would have been super easy after Ashton’s), and back to Transformers. Such is a 4 year old mind, right?

Look how grown up he looks! And he just loved all the attention on him.
I tried to keep everything simple. The favors contained some stickers I designed, airheads and jumbo sized Smarties. And the food was Oliver’s pick: mac & cheese, pizza roll ups, jello and fruit. Lorin did a great job with those fruit kabobs, eh??
One of the best things I did for the party was to hire a couple of teenage boys to help with the party. They were in charge of entertaining the children and psyching them up for the activities. I will say that this party was pretty relaxing and I was able to actually enjoy it! Most of the time I am just running around trying to get things set up and calling kids, etc.
And then they learned some sweet Transformers moves. Their next adventure was to find the energy cube. There they got to take a piece and enjoy the goodies inside- very pinata like.
To my sweet Ollie Bear, Happy 4 1/2 birthday. I love your curls, your sweet shy smile and silly dances. I love that you pile on the blankets when its a million degrees out and also make sure everyone is taken care of.
I’ll post how I made the backdrop, energy cube and the robot masks + template!
