White with Glitter Bow Garland (Made from Toilet Paper!)

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cottonelle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #CottonelleTarget http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

Yes, this is a post using toilet paper. You didn’t think there was much use for toilet paper than the obvious, right? There really is more to toilet paper than meets the eye.

Her nursery was missing something on the wall where her crib is.  I wanted to keep things simple since her room has lots of color from her crib bedding.  Cottonelle’s Triple Roll toilet paper was perfect because it was thick and didn’t easily rip. I was able to make this White & Glitter Bow Garland and use it as wall art. You could also use it as a backdrop to a bridal or baby shower. Make a few strands and it makes a fabulous and simple decor piece.

It really didn’t take longer than 2 episodes of Law and Order. Gotta love multitasking. Materials:
Cottonelle Triple Roll Toilet Paper (if you use anything else it will mostly likely tear)
Glitter Glue
Glue
Hot Glue Gun
Twine or Ribbon

What I Did:

First, rip the toilet paper into squares using the perforations.
Then, apply the glitter glue to the outside edges of one side. I chose the side with only the ridges.
Once the glitter glue is dry, I scrunched it in the middle and twisted it in the center two times, that way the side with the glitter on it is facing you again. There is your pretty bow!
I dabbed Elmer’s glue on the inside and on the back side to hold the twist. I held it in place for a couple of seconds. If you wait too long then your fingers will get stuck and tear the paper.
I measured how long to make the garland and divided that by how far apart I wanted the bows to be. I made mine 110″ long and made 20 bows, each would be about 5″ apart.
I put a dab of hot glue on the back and placed the twine on the bow. Hold in place for a bit until it no longer moves. Repeat for the rest of them.

Didn’t think toilet paper could be so cute right? I will make a couple more of these during movie nights and use them to decorate for an upcoming baby shower. Any other ideas of what you could use this garland for?portfolioblogstuff_pinkanddots_blog_signature
