You know that one time my kid asked me to make him a lion? Oh wait, that is every day. He seriously wants to be a green lion tiger. He has even made his own mane (his blanket wrapped around his head like a turban) and has asked me to make him a costume (along with a Batman mask, Optimus Prime and something else…). So, I did the next best thing and painted a costume on him. Here is how you can make this sweet homemade face/body paint that washes off super easily (yay for you but sad for him) and is safe. At least, I would think so since we consume these ingredients.
Homemade Face Paint
- 1/3 tsp corn starch (I used 1/2 but it came out a little starchy)
- 1 tsp warm milk
- 1/4 tsp warm water
- food coloring
Mix the warm liquids and add cornstarch. Stir until it dissolves. Then add drops of food coloring. The amount depends on how rich you want the colors. I used about 4-6.
I know you have no idea what my son is- he can’t make up his mind either. He wanted to be a GREEN Lion/Tiger Cheetah, hence the stripes, mane and spots in ridiculous colors. I just create he is the one with the vision.
They even had fun painting each other….then it got a little out of hand but nothing the hose didn’t fix.
There you go- easy summer activity that gets their creative juices flowing. Or have a face painting booth at your next party. Ah, so much potential! Have a great weekend everyone.
